The Role:

 

Reporting directly to Country Manager, the Import Operations role will be responsible for handling all Import FCL/LCL, liaising with Carriers, Service Providers and Overseas Partners. 

 

This role requires an individual with a high level of communication, problem solving skills and the ability to think on their feet and make quick decisions as this role highly depends on ensuring ongoing Customer satisfaction through effective and efficient responses to customer enquiries, issues, and concerns as well as develop new opportunities in different trade lanes, services.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • PO management: placing orders with agents, setting up new order
  • Coordinating and managing customer bookings, documentation, cartage, customs reporting, invoicing.
  • Weekly reports on current position, opportunities, threats and profitability, including Job closing and notifying team leader/account manager of non-profitable areas.
  • Track and trace of international cargo, provide regular status reports
  • Ensure all quotations are managed and updated into database.
  • Training with clients around systems, client portals for self-help purposes.
  • Searching for improvements where possible, i.e. Annual Packing Declaration if using a packing declaration per shipment etc.

 


You will have:

  • Strong Import or Export Freight Forwarder experience in Sea (at least 1-year experience with CargoWise)
  • Personable, energetic, and communicative as well as being organised and time efficient.
  • Ability to perform end-to-end import operations services.
  • High level of accuracy and the ability to prioritise workload cope under pressure.
  • Relationship building with all stakeholders and who can work independently and/or as part of a team.
  • Desire to be a part of/and appreciation for the challenges and rewards of working in a growing business.
